Live + Loud, the annual festival that celebrates Birmingham’s diverse arts movement, is returning to Selfridges Birmingham this month (September).
The four-day event takes place at the Bullring department store between Thursday, September 26, and Sunday, September 29, and will feature a host of family activities, beauty events and exclusive brand events.
The main beauty event will be the big Beauty Party on Saturday, September 28, hosted by Mother’s Meeting and will feature a live DJ set, refreshments and exclusive beauty experiences.
The beauty hall will be buzzing with events and special offers during Live + Loud, with a dozen exclusive masterclasses with some of the department store’s biggest make-up brands, while customers can also take advantage of a number of special offers.
On Sunday, September 29, the store will play host to three exciting pop-up battles, with hip hop DJ and radio personality Charlie Sloth sending his popular Fire in the Streets to the store to find a new rap and MC star. Local hip hop and grime producers will also be able to showcase their talents, while world-class B-boys and some of Birmingham’s street dance community, including Heart Works Studio, will be showing dance lovers how to pop, lock, vogue and whack.
Youngsters are also invited to take part in an exciting day of crafts, dance, music and performances on Saturday, September 28, to mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landings. The Selfridges Space Party will feature complimentary cosmic activities, while staff from Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery will be on hand to teach youngsters all about space. There will also be roaming performer and a zero gravity dance floor.
